DeLysa燃烧的 is 教授 of 政治科学. She received her Ph.D. 和M.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 她的B.A. also is from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with highest distinction in political science. Dr. 如火的’s current research appears in 政府 & Society, Public 政府 Review, 政府 Theory and 实践, Journal of Public Affairs 教育, Journal of Contemporary Ethnography. In 2018 she published “Reimagining Performance in Public 政府 Theory and Practice: Creating a Democratic Performativity of Care” in 政府 Theory and 实践. Earlier work appears in Economic Development Quarterly, Political 研究 Quarterly, 女权主义的老师, Journal of Urban Affairs. She currently serves on the editorial boards for Administrative Theory & 实践 和 Journal of Public Affairs 教育. Her chapter on gender and public administration is in the Encyclopedia of Public 政府 and Public 政策. A book chapter, “Developing Gender Competent Public Administrators,” was published in Cultural Competency for Public Administrators (M. E. 夏普,2012). 另外, she is the author of several other book chapters and was the recipient of two national grants in the areas of campaign financing and political advertising.

Dr. 如火的 was named the first ever Presidential Teacher at newbb电子平台 in 2001. Her other teaching awards include the student-selected University 教授 Award, the College of Arts & Sciences Outstanding Teaching Award, 和 Jeanette Grasselli Outstanding Teaching Award.

In 2006 and 2017 she received the Distinguished Mentor Award from the Honors College at newbb电子平台. In 2016 she was awarded the Rita Mae Kelly Award for distinguished research on women’s issues from the Section for Women in Public 政府/American Society for Public 政府.

Dr. 如火的 teaches classes in Public 政府 and 美国政治. They include: Organization Theory, Interest Group Politics, the graduate seminar in 美国政治, American Federalism and Public 政策, 美国政治, 政策, 和管理. She has directed many master’s and honors theses. Her students work around the state and region in government and non-profits, as well as teach in universities and community colleges. Dr. 如火的 is the former director of the Public 政府 Program 和 former Director of 研究生 Studies for the Department of 政治科学.

Currently she is a Voinovich 教师 Fellow with the George Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs. In this capacity she encourages and helps coordinate faculty use of the Voinovich Archives, which are located at newbb电子平台. Dr. 如火的 also was a teaching fellow with the Ohio Fellows program. This program is an undergraduate leadership program, which was reactivated in 2012.
