俄亥俄州 教师 Cohort Hire Initiative

Ohio University has launched an university-wide initiative focused on hiring cohorts (or clusters) of faculty guided by 俄亥俄州’s commitment to inclusive excellence. Specifically, the Ohio University 教师 Cohort Hire Initiative advances Ohio University commitment to recruiting, developing, and retaining faculty with diverse thoughts, experiences, or backgrounds, through providing support, mentorship, and opportunities for personal and professional development.

The Cohort 教师 Hiring Initiative supplements traditional faculty hiring practices and norms by providing salary support for new strategic faculty positions. Through targeted hiring, Ohio University strives to support scholars and teachers dedicated to achieving and maintaining a diverse and inclusive environment.

IDEA Tenure-Track Hiring Program

Through the IDEA (Inclusive, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) Initiative, 俄亥俄州 seeks to advance Presidential Priority Three: Ensuring Academic Quality by hiring up to six tenure-track positions with a focus on teaching, 研究, and/or service in areas that include belonging, 比赛, inclusion, diversity, 性别, accessibility, and/or equity. The IDEA hiring program is intended to enrich 俄亥俄州’s outstanding faculty, whose teaching, 研究, scholarship, creative activity, and service advance and apply knowledge across many disciplines.

Each IDEA faculty hire builds on areas of strength, support Ohio University’s R1 status, and reflect the teacher-scholar model through which 研究 impacts graduate and undergraduate education. IDEA faculty will participate in university-wide faculty development programming. Positions will begin in Fall 2023 or Fall 2024.

INVITE Instructional 教师 Hiring Program

Through the INVITE (Innovative Inclusive Teaching Excellence) Initiative, 俄亥俄州 seeks to advance Presidential Priority One: Continue Improvement of Student Experience and Success by hiring up to six new instructional faculty focused areas of undergraduate student need and success. INVITE faculty will be engaged with student mentoring, inclusive and innovative pedagogy, equitable learning and assessment, and evidence-based practices for equitable outcomes into their work.

INVITE faculty receive a course release each semester to serve as 教师 Fellows in the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment, and act as a resource for other faculty to support inclusive and innovative pedagogy in critical courses that have a high impact on student retention and success in their discipline. INVITE faculty will participate in university-wide faculty development programming. Positions will begin in Fall 2023 or Fall 2024.
